City of Axtell

The city office is open from 8:30 to noon every day and the first five working days of each month from 8:30 to noon and 1:00 to 5:00.

City of Axtell now accepts payments by credit/debit card or by check.

Debit/Credit card is a 2.5% fee

Bank account is a $1.50 fee

The city library is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to noon. 785-736-2858

Please contact the Post Office at 

785-736-2726 for address information. The Post Office will not deliver until you have filled out proper paperwork.

A non refundable fee of $150.00 for Electric ($100) and Water ($50) is required before service is turned on. 

Trash service from Seneca Sanitation is billed by the city on your utility bill. Pickup is Tuesday mornings. 

Sewer service is billed by the city on your utility bill.

Meters are read on approximately the 24th of each month and bills are mailed around the 28th. Payments are due by the 20th of the following month. 

Payments can be mailed, dropped off at the clerk's office or the in the drop box in front of the city building. 

Axtell State Bank offers direct withdrawal as well.

There is a 10% penalty if bill is not paid by the 20th. Service will be discontinued if not paid by the 27th. 

The landfill is for yard waste only. It is located 1 mile west and 1/2 mile south of Axtell. A key may be obtained from any city employee.

Building permits and dog licenses can be obtained at the city office.

There is a limit of three dogs per property. No kennels allowed. 

ALL Pitbull and Rottweiler dogs or any dog with these blood lines are prohibited in Axtell.
